Description
This barn, located approximately 7 yards northeast of Harp Farmhouse, dates back to 1806. It is timber framed, covered in weatherboarding, and has a slate roof. The structure consists of five bays, featuring double doors in the center bay at the front and no openings at the rear. There is a rear aisle and a small half hip at each end of the roof.
Inside, the wall studs are virtually unaltered, with thin straight tension braces and original braces supporting the tie-beams and arcade plate. The roof includes queen struts to the collars and very deeply staggered butt side purlins, along with a ridge piece. All structural members are pegged and finished. The barn is marked with the date "1806" on the jowl of the rear arcade post in the central bay. It is listed for its group value.
