Description

Martello Tower (No 19) was built in 1806 as part of the coastal defense system against a potential invasion from Napoleonic France. The tower is constructed of brick and has a cement coating on the outside. Its walls are between 5½ to 6 feet thick. The structure features a central column that is 5 feet thick and consists of two storeys topped with a flat roof, which serves as a gun platform.
