Description
Pedlinge Court Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features a timber frame with plaster infilling, and the ground floor of the left section is underbuilt in flint and brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The cottage consists of three timber-framed bays, including a storeyed two-bay hall with a storeyed bay to the left, and possibly another to the right. It stands two storeys high on a stone plinth and has a continuous jetty supported by solid brackets, with the left end bay underbuilt. The structure is close-studded and has a long wooden cill to the hall. The roof is hipped to the left and gabled with tile-hanging to the right. There is a rear stack located at the centre of the hall. The cottage has irregular fenestration, featuring five 2-light leaded casements—two in the left end bay and three in the centre of the hall. A ribbed door leads up two steps to the right end of the hall, adorned with a moulded 4-centred arched doorhead and carved flowers in the spandrels. There are 19th and 20th-century red brick lean-tos on the gable ends. Inside, the hall showcases moulded beams and joists, along with exposed framing.
