Description
This is an early 17th-century house, with alterations made in the 19th century and again in the 20th century. It is timber-framed and stands on a low stone plinth. The front elevation is faced with red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, while the first floor is clad in banded plain and fishscale tiles. The right gable end is stone, and the roof is covered in plain tiles with a steep hip. There are rear stacks located to the left and right, as well as a gable end stack on the right. Two dormers are visible at the rear. The fenestration is irregular, with three 20th-century casement windows - two 4-light and one central 3-light. The ground floor has central French doors. A stone lean-to has been added to the rear, incorporating a re-used 17th-century moulded wooden doorway. A brick date stone, bearing the initials "IKD" and the date 1631, has been re-set into the left gable end. Inside, original features include ovolo-moulded beams and an early 17th-century ribbed plaster ceiling in the left ground-floor room.
