Description
Cedar Dairies Well Cottage is a house, now part of a house row, located on the west side of Dymchurch High Street. The right cross-wing dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century, while the left section may be from a similar period. Both sections feature an early 19th-century facade. The wing, and possibly the rest of the building, are heavily timber framed. The ground floor is clad with painted brick, and the first floor has painted tile-hanging. The roof is made of plain tiles. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a hipped roof, with the right hip returning along the rear wing, which has lower eaves and a higher ridge. The rear of the wing is half-hipped, and there is no visible stack. There are two hipped dormers and irregular fenestration with two 12-pane glazing bar sashes. To the left, there is a half-glazed door to No.119, and a panelled door to No.121 at the left end of a single-storey 19th-century shop to the right of the wing. There is also a single-storey addition to the left. The interior of No.121 (the cross-wing) has exposed timbers, some of which are chamfer-stopped.
