Description
Nos 18 and 20 Church Street are two adjoining houses originally built as one in the 18th century. They are two storeys high with an attic and constructed of red brick. The roof is tiled and features a high gable above the cornice at each end, along with three dormers. The eaves have a heavy wooden cornice with modillions. There are six sash windows with intact glazing bars. The main doorway of No 20 retains its original features, including pilasters (the lower half fluted), a pediment, and a 16-panel moulded door. No 18 has a doorway with a flat hood supported on brackets, which was originally a side door. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 12 to 28 (even) and Cobblestones in front of Nos 22 and 24.
