Description
Nos 22 and 24 on Church Street are a pair of 18th-century cottages. They are two storeys tall and constructed of red brick, featuring a hipped tiled roof and a modillion eaves cornice. Each cottage has one sash window with intact glazing bars. The entrance to each cottage is framed by doorcases with fluted pilasters, and they share joint entablatures that include a moulded frieze with alternating triglyphs and paterae, topped with a projecting cornice. The sides and back of the cottages are covered in weatherboarding. The cobblestones in front of Nos 22 and 24 contribute to the group value of the buildings, which includes Nos 12 to 28 (even).
