Description
Arpinge House is an 18th-century house, possibly with a 17th-century core. It is constructed of painted brick, which may have a timber-framed core, and features a plain tile roof. The house has a double depth and stands two storeys high on a brick plinth, with a plat band running along the facade. The hipped roof has hips that return, and there is a gable end stack on the right side, along with two ridge stacks flanking the front door. The windows are arranged irregularly, featuring four recessed windows with segmental heads; to the left, there is one three-light casement window and three two-light horizontally-sliding sash windows. The ground floor has 16-pane sashes with segmental heads. The entrance features a ribbed door with a rectangular fanlight located under the second window from the left. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to contain a staircase with decorative painted iron balusters. The house is referred to as Arpinge Farm on the Ordnance Survey map.
