This listing describes a row of ten headstones located about 1 to 20 metres south of the Church of St Mary in Capel-le-Ferne. The headstones include the following notable examples:

  • Thomas Hammond, who died in 1750, has a headstone about 2½ feet high, decorated with four rosettes on a scrolled head.
  • George Andrews, from the 18th century, has a headstone about 2 feet high with an inscription on a fielded panel, featuring a semi-circular head decorated with an hourglass and a death's head.
  • William Andrews, also from the 18th century, has a headstone about 2½ feet high, adorned with a death's head and hourglass.
  • Elizabeth Andrews, who died in 1758, has a headstone about 2 feet high with a triple segmental head, decorated with a skull and two hourglasses.
  • John Knott, a yeoman who died in 1705, has a headstone with a triple segmental head featuring crude representations of a skull and hourglass.
