Description

Upton Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house in Alkham, built of red brick with a plain tiled roof. It has two storeys and an attic, and sits on a plinth with a plat band, and a wooden modillion eaves cornice to the roof. There are stacks at each end of the building, and two flat-roofed dormers with horizontal sliding glazing bar sashes. The regular fenestration includes five glazing bar sashes on the first floor, with a smaller window centrally placed and a rendered panel beneath it. The ground floor has four glazing bar sashes. A plat band is raised up over a central half-glazed door with a rectangular fanlight, set within a trellised porch with a flat hood.
