Description
Malmains Manor is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with early 19th-century cladding. It has a timber-framed origin and is covered with rendered brick and flint, topped by a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys, featuring a moulded plat band and a parapet with kneelered gables. A central stack is located to the left. On the first floor, there are four glazing bar sash windows, while the ground floor has two canted bay windows and another glazing bar sash window to the right. The entrance is a double panelled door situated to the centre left, topped by a traceried semi-circular fanlight within a porch supported by fluted Doric columns. To the left, there is a glazed brick conservatory with a tripartite glazing bar sash window and a half-glazed door. At the rear, there is a large early 20th-century porch with an elliptical pediment. The manor is associated with the Lupino family, known for their Music Hall fame in the early 20th century. Despite its name, it is probably not the medieval site of Malmains manor.
