Description

The Red Cow Public House is a 16th century timber-framed building that features a jettied first floor, although it has been refronted. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with two windows on both the first and ground floors, as well as one gabled dormer, all of which retain their glazing bars. The front is plastered, and there is a two-panel bead flush door located under a brick gable end supported by corbels. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 12 (even), Nos 14 to 22 (even), St Johns Hospital Almshouses, and the United Reform Church, as well as the Cattle Market.
