Description
This is a mid-19th century terrace of houses located on Castle Street. The terrace comprises numbers 16 to 32 (even). The buildings are constructed of yellow brick with a slate mansard roof, featuring ten dormers. Each house has three storeys, a basement, and attics. The windows are predominantly sash windows, with most original glazing bars remaining. Numbers 22 to 30 have a stuccoed and rusticated base, and number 30 features a keystone in the form of a term. Numbers 18 and 20 have two three-light canted bays extending through all storeys. A stringcourse runs along the facade. The doorcases are generally round-headed, and most houses have spear railings and handrails. Numbers 16 to 32 (even) are grouped together for group value.
