Description
21 to 27 East Cliff Terrace are a row of houses built around 1840-1850. They are four storeys high with a semi-basement and have a cemented exterior. Each house features three windows. Above the second floor, there is a bracket eaves cornice, although this is missing from No 22. There is another cornice and a parapet above the third floor. Nos 23 and 24 slightly project beyond the others and have a frieze below the lower cornice decorated with an Anthemion motif. No 27 projects significantly and has a curved front. The ground floor has round-headed windows and cemented porches. The first floor features iron balconies with hoods, although most of the glazing bars are missing. This group of buildings is part of a larger collection that includes Nos 1 to 19.
