Description

Stonar House and Tuffnell House, originally one house, date back to 1780. This building features three storeys and a basement, constructed of red brick. It has a parapet and a brick string course above the ground and first floors. The entrance boasts a fine doorcase framed by fluted pilasters, consoles, and a pediment, along with a moulded frieze in the Adam style that includes motifs of lions, urns, and sways. The entrance door is a six-panel moulded design. The properties at Nos 2 to 16 (even) and Chevne Cottage are part of a group that includes No 9 South Street and Nos 1 and 2 Crown Court.
