Description
Queen Anne House, located at No 13 Middle Street, is an early 18th-century building. It is two storeys high with an attic, constructed of red brick that has been colour washed. The roof is hipped and tiled, featuring cement-covered shaped Dutch gables at the south end. There are two dormers on the front and two on the side. The building has five sash windows set in reveals, with wide sash bars; notably, the centre window on the first floor is very narrow. Above the ground floor, there is a moulded brick stringcourse. The doorcase is adorned with fluted pilasters and an entablature, with flush panelled reveals and a six-panelled door, where the top two panels are cut away and glazed. Nos 5 to 13 (odd) form a group, and No 13 also forms a group with the outbuildings behind.
