Description

This outbuilding, located between No 1 and Barnesend Court, was built around the year 1600. It has been converted into a garage and features whitened brick at the base, with timber framing above that is weatherboarded in dark brown. The roof is tiled, hipped at one end, and merges into No 1 at the other end. The rear of the building has a pantiled roof that slopes down to within approximately 6 feet of the ground. This structure holds significant group value, as it is part of a collection that includes No 1 and the buildings numbered 1 to 23 (odd) on The Chain, as well as Nos 4 to 12 (even) on Church Street in St Clements.
