Description

This is a horse trough located about 35 metres north of The Riding Habit in Eastry. It was built in 1911 and donated by K. Lyall, F. C. Rae, A. C. Rae, and C. G. Harty. The trough is made of concrete or reconstituted stone and features a plain design on two blocks, topped with an ogee-shaped head that includes a drinking bowl. Although the fountain equipment is no longer present, a salutary poem for the drinkers remains. This structure is included for its group value.
