Description
Jossenblock is a house with an early 18th-century front and a rear wing that dates back to the 17th century or earlier. The building is constructed of flint with brick and stone dressings and features a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high and has a plinth and a plat band, with stone quoins and box eaves on a hipped roof that has stacks on both the left and right sides, along with a skylight.
The front of the house has a regular arrangement of five glazing bar sash windows on the first floor and four on the ground floor, each with rough dressed heads. The central entrance door consists of six panels, with the top two being glazed, and is sheltered by a flat porch supported by slender piers. The rear wing, which has a first storey and an attic, is built using the same materials and style, but features English bond brickwork, a greater use of rubble, and dressed stone blocks. It also has a hipped roof and large scantling ceiling joists that indicate its earlier construction date. An initialed tile on the exterior bears the letter M. Inside the rear wing, there is a large inglenook fireplace and a bread oven.
