Description
Langdon Court is a house that dates back to the 16th century but was refaced in the early 19th century. It features red brick in English bond, with the main elevation rendered, and has been extended with white brick and flint. The roof is plain tiled and has a half-hipped design on the left side, with stacks located at the rear left and at the end right. The building has a regular arrangement of three margin light sash windows on the first floor and two tripartite margin light sashes on the ground floor. The central entrance door has two panels and is topped with a semi-circular fanlight, framed by a doorcase with engaged columns and a pediment. To the right, there is a projecting one-storey half-hipped wing from the 19th century, which has one wooden casement window on each floor and a glazed door to the right, with flint walling on the return and rear sides. The rear elevations of the main block display exposed English bond brickwork, a large offset rear stack, moulded brick window surrounds, and a flint plinth. The house was significantly enlarged in the 17th century by James Master, but large portions were demolished after it was sold to the Waldershare estate following 1712.
