Description
Mount Ephraim House is a cottage pair, now functioning as a house, built in 1867 by George Devey for William Oxenden Hammond. The structure features rough dressed stone with painted brick and rendering, topped with a plain tiled roof, reflecting the St. Albans Court style. It is one storey with an attic, characterized by a moulded bressumer and gables that project to the right and left on the front slope of the roof, as well as to the centre. The house includes oriel windows on each floor of the gables, a two-storey canted bay to the centre left, and mullioned windows on the ground floor. The central entrance has a rib and stud door set within a plain surround, accompanied by sidelights. A date roundel on the first floor of the bay is inscribed with "W H 1867."
