Description
The Rectory, built in the late 18th century for Reverend Robert Pitman, is a two-storey house with an attic, rendered and topped with a plain tiled roof. It stands on a plinth featuring a rusticated ground floor and a plat band. The roof is half-hipped on the left and has a brick eaves cornice, with three gabled dormers and chimney stacks positioned at the rear on both sides. The building has three glazing bar sash windows on each floor, with the right end ground floor window located in a one-storey extension. The central entrance features a door with six moulded panels, flanked by sidelights and topped with a cornice. A cast iron balcony with French doors is located on the first floor of the right return. Attached to the left of the house is a wall approximately 8 feet high, extending about 20 yards to the west, with two gate piers situated immediately next to the house.
