Description

The chest tomb for the Wood family, located about 3 metres southeast of the chancel of the Church of St. Nicholas, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of stone and features a moulded base supported by two steps. The tomb has urn-shaped corner piers and moulded oval and square side panels that are decorated with fluted fan designs. The end panels include quatrefoil-shaped recesses that once held brasses, which are now lost.
