Description

Benbow Cottage, located at No 14 Silver Street, is a building that dates back to the 18th century but was altered in the mid-19th century. It is two storeys high and features a stuccoed exterior, with the ground floor having a rusticated finish. There is a stringcourse and an elaborate moulded parapet. The first floor has one sash window with verticals only, supported by console brackets and a cornice above. The entrance features a segmental-headed doorcase with a keystone and a six-panelled door, where the top two panels are cut away and glazed. Benbow Cottage is part of a group with Nos 11 to 15, which are consecutive buildings.
