Description

No 18 on St Peter's Street is a timber-framed house dated 1636, now faced with red brick and topped with a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and features two windows on the upper floor with casement windows, while the lower floor has one sash window, although the horizontal glazing bars are missing. To the north of the sash window, there is a pointed wooden arch that leads to a passage known as Holy Ghost Alley, which likely served as the original front entrance of a Hall House that is now part of the adjoining properties. This house is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 30 (even) and No 30A.
