Description

Little Rushett is a hall house, originally dating to the 15th century, and re-clad in the 19th century. It is timber-framed and now faced with red brick, with a plain tiled roof. The building has four framed bays. It is two storeys high and has a hipped roof with a single gabled dormer window. There are three chimney stacks, located to the left, centre left, and right. The first floor has a single glazing bar sash window to the left, a glazed roundel, a double wooden casement, and a glazing bar sash window to the right. The ground floor has three glazing bar sash windows. A gabled porch is situated in the centre left, and contains a six-panel door with the top two panels glazed. Inside, the roof features three crown posts; the central post is octagonal with a moulded base and caps, while the other two are unmoulded and braced to the tie beam and collar purlin. The timbers are smoke blackened. There are canted tie-beams with doubled braces. A moulded four-centred arched doorway, possibly replaced from a screens passage (in the centre left bay), is also present.
