SWANSCOMBE AND GREENHITHE LONDON ROAD (north side) Greenhithe Wall, gate piers and railings to Ingress Abbey fronting London Road and turning into The Avenue

2. Early to mid C19. Coursed stone rubble wall about 5 ft in height with stone coping. At the junction with The Avenue there are 6 square stone gate piers with pyramidal caps separated by cast iron railings of Gothic form with embattled tops and trefoil and quatrefoil patterns. The wall along The Avenue has 2 similar gate piers separated by a length of cast iron railings, a section of stone wall about 20 ft in length and finally a section of wall of knapped flints about 6 ft high.
