Description
The garden walls to the east, north, and west of Scadbury Manor, which extend to the Pest House, are 17th-century structures made of red brick. They create two rectangular enclosures, one to the north and one to the west of the manor house. In the north-west corner of the smaller eastern rectangle, there is a doorway featuring brick pilasters and a cornice above. The larger western rectangle, which is open on the south side, includes a low 4-centred arch in its north-west corner that resembles a fireplace but was likely used for smoking bees out. Adjacent to this arch on the north side is a small recess or bee-skipp with a pointed head, and on the south side, there are nine similar bee-skips.
