Description

Scadbury Cottage is a 16th-century building located on the east side of New Barn Road in Southfleet. It is a single-storey structure with a stucco exterior and a tiled roof, featuring a 16th-century chimney stack. The cottage has three altered windows and modern doorcases. Inside, there is a large open fireplace and some 16th-century panelling with lozenge decoration, which has been reused from a house in Darenth. Historically, this cottage was referred to as Dogkennel Cottage on old maps, suggesting that it was originally used for keeping hounds.
