Nos 16 and 17 on Sun Street are late 18th century or early 19th century buildings that stand three storeys tall and are constructed of painted brick. They feature two sash windows with intact glazing bars, which are set within moulded architraves. The first floor has two 18th century three-light bow windows. There is a wrought iron shop sign bracket, and the shop fronts were added in the later 19th century. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 14 to 24 and Nos 50 to 61 on Palace Street.
