Description

Nos 26 and 27 Palace Street is an 18th-century pair of buildings that stand three storeys tall and are constructed of red brick, with No 27 being colour-washed. They feature a hipped old tiled roof with a wooden bracket cornice. Both buildings have two sashes with intact glazing bars. No 26 includes an early 19th-century shop front that has a cornice and pilasters, along with a restored bow. No 27 boasts a fine 18th-century doorcase with an open pediment and reeded pilasters, as well as rectangular fanlights, panelled reveals, and a six fielded panelled door, accessed by two steps. These buildings are part of a group that includes the Church of St Alphege and Nos 10 to 28 Palace Street.
