Description

The Bell and Crown Inn, located at 11 Palace Street, is a 3-storey building that has been refronted and features timber framing. The exterior is a mix of brick, tile-hanging, and imitation timber framing with plaster infill. The windows have been restored and include both casements and sashes. The late 19th-century bar fronts are adorned with brick pilasters. Additionally, the adjacent building, No 12, has a 19th-century bay shop front. The Church of St Alphege and the properties numbered 10 to 28 on Palace Street form a group, as do the properties numbered 2 to 6 on St Alphege Lane.
