Number 12 Palace Street is a 16th-century timber-framed house that has been refronted. It stands two storeys high with a gable imitation timber frame and plastered exterior. The roof is tiled and features decorated bargeboards with pendants. On the upper floor, there is one mullioned window. The ground floor includes a 19th-century bay window that is supported on brackets. This building is part of a group that includes the Church of St Alphege and numbers 10 to 28 Palace Street.
