Description
No 4 St Alphege Lane is a fine 18th century house that has been refronted with cement. It stands three storeys tall, with the ground floor featuring rusticated detailing. Above the ground and first floors, there are parapets and string courses. The house has four windows, although the glazing bars are missing on the ground floor. The doorcase is notable for its open pediment supported by console brackets, a rectangular fanlight, pilasters, and an eight-panelled door. There is a plinth at the base. The rear elevation includes a gable and a two-storey weatherboarded extension. Nos 2 to 6 St Alphege Lane form a group with Nos 10 and 11 Palace Street.
