Description
This is a late 18th or early 19th century terrace of eight buildings, numbered 4 to 18 on the east side of Monastery Street. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the first floor is faced with mathematical tiles. The roof is tiled. The windows are eight-pane sashes with intact glazing bars. Each building has a doorcase featuring reeded pilasters, a rectangular fanlight, and a four-panelled door. The side elevation is weatherboarded. A wall adjoins number 1 on its right side, and a water pump is located opposite number 1. Numbers 4 to 18, along with St Augustine’s College, its Hall, Chapel, the Cemetery Gateway, The Great Gateway, and a wall in front of St Augustine’s College, form a group of buildings of group value.
