Description
Waterfall Cottages are a pair of cottages originally built in the 18th century or earlier, but they were modified in the mid-19th century in the Cottage orné style as part of the estate village of Bifrons, the residence of the Marquesses Conyngham. The cottages are one storey with attics, constructed of red brick and topped with a tiled roof featuring brick stacks that are ornamentally grouped.
The south cottage has a rendered gable with one window and three hipped dormers, along with a penticed wooden porch. It also features one window with a rectangular drip mould and another with a wooden surround on brackets and a carved cornice. The north cottage has a gabled porch adorned with scalloped bargeboards and a door fitted with ornamental iron hinges. It includes one window beneath a rectangular drip mould, and both cottages have windows with three lights.
