Description

Zoar Chapel was built in 1845 and is a single-storey structure made of stock brick. It features a pedimented gable end with stone coping. The façade includes a rainwater head, two round-headed sash windows with stone heads, a stone stringcourse, and shutters. The round-headed doorcase has a keystone, a semi-circular fanlight with glazing bars, and a six-panelled door. To the right, there is a modern extension that is also one storey high. In front of the chapel, there is a stone-paved yard enclosed by a cemented brick wall topped with modern cast iron railings. Additionally, there are a pair of cast iron gatepiers, with one featuring a cast iron urn on top. Notably, the chapel is built on the foundations of one of the towers of the City Wall.
