Description

Chestnut Villas is a row of three early 19th-century houses located on the east side of The Street, Mersham. The houses are timber-framed and have brick and fish-scale tile cladding, with a plain tiled roof. They stand on a ragstone plinth; the brickwork of the left-hand house, Chestnut Villa, is not bonded to the brickwork of the two houses to its right, while the upper floors are entirely tile hung. Chimneys are located to the left, centre left, and right. The first floor has five wooden casement windows, while the ground floor has three. There are six-panelled doors to the left, and a pair of doors to the centre right, each protected by a flat hood supported on brackets. A catslide roof extends outwards at the rear.
