Description

The Old Gate House, including the attached raised footway, is a house and footpath dating from the early 19th century. It is built of painted brick, with ragstone on the return elevations, and features a slate roof. The building is one storey high with a hipped roof and a stack at the right end. There are two glazing bar sash windows and a central door consisting of six raised and fielded panels, topped with a pediment supported by console brackets. To the left, there is an outshot with a boarded door. In front of the house, there is a raised pavement with low spiked railings and a central mounting block.
