Description
Whitehall is a Grade II listed building located behind Nos 25 and 27 on the south side of High Street. Access is through a passage between these two properties. Originally an inn, this 16th-century timber-framed building features some curved braces and has been restored. It stands two storeys high with a hipped tiled roof and an outside chimney breast at the east end of the north front. The building has three casement windows and displays exposed beams and panelling in its interior. Whitehall is part of a group that includes Nos 19, 19A, 21 to 25 (odd), 25A, 27, 31, and 31A.
