The College

The College is a Grade II* listed building located on the east side of the Churchyard. It was founded during the reign of Edward IV as the Vicarage, although most of the original structure was demolished in the 18th century. The building has an L-shaped layout, with the north wing featuring a timber frame and plaster infill, standing two storeys high beneath a tiled roof with an eaves cornice. This wing includes three modern casement windows. The west wing, dating from the 18th century, is constructed of red brick and also has two storeys. It features a cornice and parapet, three sashes with intact glazing bars, and a painted wooden doorcase adorned with a pediment and rusticated pilasters, leading to a six-panel door.

The College is part of a group of listed items in the Churchyard, which includes Nos 51 to 61 (odd), 61A, 63 to 67 (odd), 67A, 69 to 71 (odd), 75, and the rear part of No 75 on High Street.
