Description

Nos 38 to 42 on High Street in Charing are 18th-century buildings that stand two storeys tall and are constructed of painted brick. They feature a hipped tiled roof with two dormers and a large brick chimney stack, along with a modillion eaves cornice. Number 42 has a separate hip, suggesting it was likely added later. The upper floor has two cambered sash windows with intact glazing bars and one blank window. Number 42 also has a later window. On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century shop fronts, and number 40 includes a simple doorcase.
