Description

High Halden Post Office and B V and J Cooke Stores is probably a late medieval hall-house. It is a timber-framed building that has been refaced with weatherboarding. The south-easternmost window bay features a tile-bung with a jettied gable, likely from the 19th century. The building has two storeys and attics, topped with a steeply pitched hipped tiled roof that includes one hipped dormer and an attic window in the gable. There are three casement windows, except on the first floor below the gable where there is a bay window. The shop front has been modernized.
