Description

Denmark House is a mid-19th century house on the south side of Canterbury Road in Chilham. The building is constructed of red brick with a slate roof. It features a rendered plinth, rusticated quoins, and a moulded wooden eaves cornice to the gabled roof. There are rear stacks located to the rear left and rear right. The windows are arranged regularly, with three sash windows to the first floor and two to the ground floor, all with gauged heads. The central entrance has a four-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight within a moulded stone surround, topped by a flat hood and architrave resting on brackets. A 20th-century two-storey red brick extension, flat-roofed and with a single window, is located to the left and is of no particular architectural interest. The building is included on the list solely for its group value.
