Description
Nos 15 and 17 East Cross, formerly known as Yew Tree House and Miriam House, are a pair of 18th-century houses. They are two storeys high with attics, constructed of red brick and featuring mathematical tiles on the first floor. The buildings have a half-hipped roof with a wooden eaves cornice and four gabled dormers. There are six sash windows with intact glazing bars. No 17 includes two small bay windows on the ground floor, while No 15 has a flat hood over its door supported by carved brackets. No 17 also features a porch with slender columns, a segmental fanlight, and a six-panel moulded door. Additionally, No 17 has a wing at the back that is likely older than the main part of the house. All the listed buildings on the west side of East Cross are part of a group.
