Description
The Armoury, located at Nos 12, 13, and 14 on the west side of East Cross, was built in the 18th century as a single composition. It is a three-storey building with a ground floor made of painted brick and tile-hung upper floors. The structure features a central block with three windows, an eaves cornice, and three dormers, flanked by end window bays that are taller and lack dormers. The eaves cornice is positioned above the second floor, and the building has hipped roofs. There are five sash windows in total, although most of the glazing bars are missing. Nos 13 and 14 have pediments above their doorcases, while No 12 has been altered with weatherboarding above the ground floor and a large bay window added on all floors. Nos 13 and 14 feature small bay windows on the ground floor, with No 14 also having a second modern bay window. All the listed buildings on the west side of East Cross are part of a group.
