Description
No. 9 East Cross is part of a terrace of four late 18th century houses. The building has three storeys, is timber-framed, and features tile hanging. It has a hipped roof and a cornice with modillions. The ends of the building have long and short wooden quoins. There are nine sash windows, although most have missing glazing bars. Nos. 8 and 9 each have a bay window on all floors, while No. 10 has bay windows only on the ground and first floors. The doorcases are adorned with pilasters, open pediments, semi-circular fanlights, and six-panel moulded doors. No. 11 has a modern shop front that has replaced the pediment above its doorway, and its side elevation is weatherboarded. All the listed buildings on the west side of East Cross are part of a group.
