Description

This is a house, originally built in the 16th century and altered in the early 19th century. It is timber-framed and now clad with painted brick and decorative tile hanging, with a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys and has an attic, set on a plinth. It features widely projecting eaves, heavily boxed and supported by brackets, over a hipped roof, which steps down at the left end without bracketed eaves. There are two chimney stacks, one to the left and one to the centre right. Four skylights are set into the roof. The first floor has four glazing bar sashes, while the ground floor has three horizontally sliding glazing bar sashes and one vertically sliding glazing bar sash. A boarded door is located to the right, set within a moulded architrave with a cornice on brackets. An oriel window with glazing bar sashes is situated on the left return at first floor level. A tiled, hipped rear wing is also present.
