Description
Parsonage Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made around 1700. It features painted brick in Flemish bond on a painted ragstone base, with exposed red brick on the return and rear elevations, partly in Header bond. The roof is plain tiled and hipped, rising to two hipped dormers, with stacks at both ends. The building has two storeys and an attic on a plinth, with a plat band and a wooden eaves cornice.
On the first floor, there are three tripartite wooden casements, while the ground floor has two wooden casements with segmental heads. The central entrance door consists of six raised and fielded panels, set within a hipped porch that includes sidelights. To the right return, there is a single-storey hipped extension that is recessed, featuring a boarded door and a wooden casement. The exposed brickwork on the left return and rear is consistent with a date that was previously visible on the house, 1630. The building was described by Hasted in 1799 as "a very handsome brick house."
