Description
Rawlinson Farmhouse is an L-shaped timber-framed building with plaster infilling, dating from the 15th century. It has two storeys and an attic, topped with a tiled roof. The farmhouse features four casement windows with diamond-shaped or small square leaded panes. The east-west wing, which is from the 15th century, has close-studded framing. Its south front boasts a wide tile-hung canopy supported by struts below the first floor, and one gable that oversails on a carved bressumer and brackets. The north front mirrors this with a similar gable, and at the west end, there is a small rectangular projection with a gable that also oversails on brackets, featuring a cove beneath. The ends of the building are tile hung, with the west front displaying the tile-hung canopy below the first floor, which returns from the south front, along with a modern bay on the ground floor. The south wing is a 16th-century addition, featuring one small gable facing west in the angle of the L, which oversails on brackets, and one gabled dormer facing south.
